Lip Syncing Music Videos Now that we have practiced only using our voices,
We are going to do the opposite and use everything but our voices.
Lip syncing is singing a song without using your voice.
Step 1: Choose your Song
-Pick a song that communicates the good in something (aka:- no sex, drugs, violence, or bad language)
-You may pick any song as long as it is appropriate.
-Your song MUST be approved by Mrs. Merrick before you begin your video.
Step 2: Find and save lyrics
-Find the lyrics of this song.
-Decide how you will present the song.
-There does not have to be lip-syncing the entire time, but you must be seen singing at least some parts.
Step 3: Create your outline
You need to think about the lyrics. How can you bring them to life?
You need to create a story that brings the lyrics to life.
Where will you record?
- Costumes? Props? Special effects? Change of scene.
- Do you need extras (i.e. background actors?) Who will film?
- When will you film
ü Step 4: Record your video
Choose if you will be doing a continuous video, or taking separate video clips and editing them together. (Hint, sending your video to another classmate’s iPad or adding it to your drive is a good backup!)
Step 5: Edit your video
Start to put your video and music together.
Remember the noise in the video doesn’t matter because you will silence the video and only hear the music.
So timing is essential.
It might be smart to play the song while recording, so the timing is right on.
Use the tools you have access to, to add your own touch to your video - transitions/captions/effects - be creative and have fun with it!
